Flowers For Every Occasion.
Our Mission
Company ProfileWe are the Friendly Florist and have been in the business of providing high quality cut flowers and garden plants since 1875. Cut flowers from abroad are flown to this country overnight to supply our shops very early in the morning to ensure you have the freshest flowers possible. Native fresh cut flowers are likewise supplied daily by local suppliers. Garden plants are guaranteed to be as fresh and healthy as possible and we will provide you with free advice about their care. We are members of the National Association of Florists which should give you assurance about our quality and service. James Warrington, the company director was quoted by the Telegraph as saying "We pride ourselves on the standard of our service and products. Each customer is treated as a special individual and every effort is made to ensure that their plant and flower desires are fully met. Our staff are friendly, knowledgeable, informative and very helpful." Gardeners Magazine recorded "The Friendly Florist is by far the best place to buy your cut flowers, garden plants and bulbs. The quality of their products is superb and far surpasses products from lesser garden centers." The team on the Radio 4 program, Gardener's Question Time have also mentioned The Friendly Florist on a number of occasions. In 2004, James Flowerdew said that he obtained his best vegetable seeds from us. Anne Suthers praised the quality of our perennials and bulbs earlier this year. Over the years we have received vast amounts of commendations from our highly satisfied and appreciative customers. The company was founded in 1875 by James Warren. He and his wife started off in a small way in London, running a flower stall. James was careful to make sure that his flowers were of the freshest and best quality. Because of this, his business was a success and he expanded into selling potted plants and bulbs. In 1881, James opened the first Friendly Florist store in Coventry. By 1910, he had opened 6 more stores and was selling a much wider range of garden products and flowers. To-day, we have 95 outlets in England. Our President, Peter Warren, James' grandson, said "I am both proud and delighted that my grandfather's business has done so well. However, our current success relies greatly on the quality of our staff who are all well trained and who do a magnificent job. This includes our buyers who do an outstanding job to ensure that our flowers and plants are the best that can be obtained." |
